The weather has remained cold rainy and cruddy, you cant ask for better weather for fishing. This weekend the fish were active from dawn to dusk with BWO’s in the late afternoon. Lanesboro DNR had aprox 1.5 inches in the rain guage and the Root was muddy. This was not a jump the banks blow out, but enough to kick the water off . Whitewater had the same amount of water with better results. The South Branch was in the best shape and fishable today. The Middle […]

All is well. The streams are clear as glass and getting spooky. Many have experienced good BWO’s. Small dropers and nympning in shallow riff’s have produced well. A yarn indicator, in clear smooth runs will produce less disruption to the waters surface in these spooky situations. Try it.

The rivers are once again in great shape. BWO’s are showing in the mornings and Midges in the evening. During the mid-day nymphing and buggering (sounds fun hey) have been taking fish. The streams are back in their banks and clearing. Reports from today say that most rivers still have a bit of color but are continuing to clear. BWO’s could pop so be ready! Go fish or Go to the GREATWATERS fly fishing EXPO at the Bloomington Sheraton.

The rivers are coming down and should be fishable tomorrow and certainly on Monday.If you’re headed out today you’ll need to look high in the drainages to find good water.
