Blowed out!
Blowed out!
I drove most of the morning yesterday looking for fishable water. I saw Creeks that had not seen water since 1976 running at full bore. There was a small amount of fishable water on the tribs to the main rivers but not much. you had to think small but there was some reasonably clear water […]
We’ve spoken to several people who have been on the water today. The word is that the smaller streams are fishing fairly well. The morning is the time to be on the water because as the day warms up the streams rise and muddy. Ideally, you’d be on the water at sun-up. Look for smaller […]
I just talked to DNR in both Lanesboro and Whitewater and the streams are in good shape as we speak. Looking through the crystal ball it may cloud up at any time time. There is no way to tell when the conditions may change. Rumors of BWO’S abound on the Root.
Although the levels are up they are holding and not blowing out. Water is still off color and is clearest in the morning. Many of you may not like fishing in this water but I am getting reports of some anglers catching a few fish in these conditions. The snow has been depleted but there […]
I did get a report from yesterday. The angler fished the Rush until 1PM in 18 inches of clarity. After that it was 0 inches of clarity. I think there is a slowdown of runoff through the night and the mornings will be a bit clearer. the kinni has been spiking at the hottest portion […]
At the time of this report both the Whitewatwer and the Root were fishable with slow runoff. The DNR were hesitant to give any definitive info on the stream conditions because the rivers are in such a dynamic state. Conditions could change in a heartbeat with the amount of snow on the ground in the […]
The runoff continues! Nice day, but fishing may be tough today. I looked at the stream flow for the Kinni and there was a slight dip in the flows but it was probably the overnight slowdown of water running into the stream. I did not see the Rush today. The rivers are in a dynamic […]
Fished all day yesterday and the morning was the most active interms of catching. Buy the end of the day the fish had all but shut down. The warm, sunny daytime temps have caused runoff again. The Rush river had gone off color by 3PM. The Kinni was up this morning. The waters were stained […]
