The rivers are once again in great shape. BWO’s are showing in the mornings and Midges in the evening. During the mid-day nymphing and buggering (sounds fun hey) have been taking fish. BWO patterns in the 16-20 range are best with a lean twards the emerger types like the Sparkle Dun. Midge action has been both top water and sub-surface. Use 10 foot or better leaders for the lightest presentation of these tiny insects. Size 20 and smaller is recomended. The Midge pupa patterns fished sub-surface has worked best for me. Nymph patterns that have worked best are all P. tail variations in 18 and 20. Lots of different patterns will work if the presentation is correct.
