With no rain in the forecast and water levels beginning to drop. Streams and rivers will begin to become fishable again. The flows will probably remain high and vary from stream to stream but the weekend is looking better every hour. I will know more tomorrow.
If you are bored and want to at least see some pictures of trout as we get through to the other side of this weather hell, I will give a short presentation with extra discussion tomorrow evening at REI in Bloomington. Looking forward to seeing all of you there. I will give away at least one secret. […]
Note about self to yall: I know I can be a slug about anything technology. I can be slow at returning calls and emails. Occasionally I will be uninspired to write blog entries. Most times I will not produce stream updates when conditions have not changed since the last posting. When the flows and precipitation […]
Sunny and calm on the dog walk today. Our snow totals were probably half of what fell in the Cities. Much of that precip went away yesterday. There is still snow on the ground though! I will be taking a drive about this morning if I get my b.. in gear. I need to get […]

Drove back from Southwestern Wisconsin yesterday along the Mississippi. Unfortunately we had a heck of a lot more snow than they did. The further North I drove the worse the stream conditions became. Everything in Pierce County is blowing mud. I thought Pine creek might be ok but it was mud too. The Viroqua […]
Looks like things are still yucked up. We are entering a period of iffy conditions. With a ton of snow still left on the ground it will be hard to predict conditions. I am off to fish the Drifless in the La Crosse area for a few days. I will update you after that. GREATWATERS […]
