Drove back from Southwestern Wisconsin yesterday along the Mississippi. Unfortunately we had a heck of a lot more snow than they did. The further North I drove the worse the stream conditions became. Everything in Pierce County is blowing mud. I thought Pine creek might be ok but it was mud too. The Viroqua area streams are running clear to just a tad off color. Midges in the air and fish to be had. Nymphing will probably the most productive but there were enough fish up to keep a dry fly angler happy. If I was looking to fish this weekend I would head south.
My Trip Report of the last few days to follow.
