Rivers in the Southeast are good to go. Caddis action has been good on many of the streams in the region. Try a downstream approach with a tan Elk hair Caddis. Skitter the fly back upstream through the riffles and be ready for explosive strikes. Add a small Caddis pupa as a trailer for the finicky fish. Dry midges in cream or small,(#22) midge pupa have also worked well. Remember the fish are feeding just under the surface, if your fly is sinking 2 inches below the surface it is to deep. Grease your leader to within 6 inches of your fly. Don”t get floatant on your fly. Have fun this weekend.
