Contrary to popular belief the rivers are fine in Western Wisconsin. Some waters may be stained but the clarity is good. The rivers are in the best shape since early spring. Root River:South Branch is a mess.Houston county bore the brunt of the storm.Gribbon and Diamond are expected to be OK by tomorrow.Whitewater:South Branch is crystal clearMiddle Branch is stainedNorth Branch and Main stem are a mess.We are in a active weather pattern and conditions can change quickly.

Dry flyactivity on the rivers in the region is good. PMD’s about 2:00. The hatch was spotty yesterday, probably because of the hot sun. There were still enough fish up to keep us interested. Conditions will be similar today with the heat and sun. Stream clarity is still spooky clear. Rain so far, has not […]

The light colored Mayflies of summer have begun to hatch on the regions rivers. Tan, pale yellow, and Granny Smith colored Mayflies Should all be in the air soon.
