Almost 3/4 an inch of rain fell from the skies once again last night. The Kinni water flows spiked and then came down just as fast. The area to the East received more rain but from the report this morning the upper end of the Rush has just a off color and fishable. I do […]

The Kinni was clear and fished well on Thursday. The Pale Afternoon Duns were in the air during the early afternoon. The hatch was spotty but the fish would take a tan, pale yellow or brown imitation of this #14 mayfly if they presented themselves as surface feeders. The amount of surface action was also […]

Here is what I know. The Kinni was fine today with a bit of color. The Rush was still chocolate milk this evening. Water temps were in the high 60’s pushing 70 if my thermometer was correct today and I am sure there was some kind of thermal spike. The rain that cam fell on […]

The Kinni is running 164 cfs, yesterday it flowed at 73 cfs. 1.5 inches of rain last night. The water should come back down quickly. Whether it is fishable this morning is unlikely but you never know until you see it. I will be looking for fishable water today so I will get back to […]

The front that passed through at the end of last week and the subsequent warm, humid and windy weather has made the catching and fishing more challenging. Although overcast skies have been the rule for the last few days, the fish seemed less active than the week before when sunny skies dominated. No patterns seemed […]

The last 3 days have been transition days. The transition has been in the weather and here is how it has effected the fishing in the area. Previous to Friday the 14th of May the weather had been cool(40-50’s), rainy and overcast. Extra layers of clothing were once again added and time spent in the […]

The streams of Pierce County are almost certainly just fine. They started out crystal clear this morning, but I have not seen them after the rain today. It would have taken a heck of a lot of water to throw them off today. A bit of color would be a good thing. The fields are plowed […]
