Excitement is building as we move towards the opening of the Wisconsin early trout season and the Greatwaters Fly Fishing Expo. It is a true sign that spring is only a short distance away. The expo takes place this weekend, Friday Saturday and Sunday. I will be doing a presentation on Sunday at 1 PM on the Kinnickinnic. It will feature the history, tactics, fly patterns and photos of the river and its fish. Stop by the show and take in all the information and presentations the show has to offer.
Keep an eye on this site and the flow rates of the rivers you are planning to fish this weekend. With temps heading towards the 40s there may be a runoff problem for the opener. We are hoping that the night temps will slow this process of melting the 8 inches of snow that is on the ground in the watersheds of Pierce Co. If I stay in the cities for the duration of the show I may have trouble getting you up to date information on the conditions of the rivers. Here is a vintage shot of my dog and my lovely wife from the back of the canoe on a 1995 trip down the Kinni

How did a good looking woman and dog fall for a lug like you? 🙂
Spending a sunny day on the water enjoying the great outdoors with best friends makes the wife and dog very happy. Happiness makes even the most ordinary look good.
