Find the fish and stick with them. Over the last three days of fishing I have run into some quirkie fish. The water temps have been cold, and yesterday stream temps only rose 1 degree from 40 to 41. I would find a hole where fishing would be gangbusters and then move to a similar hole and nothing. We know the fish are podded, so when you find them, well you know. Pattern choice has not been all that critical but when dead drifting nymphs has been slow the wolly bugger has been catching fish. Fish the slower mid-depth banks and the water you would have passed up to fish the pools. Wood snags have been the best. This past week the dry fishing has slowed from the previous week but look for it to pick up as the weather warms. The midges are there and some BWO sightings have been reported.
