The southeast is in fine shape and hatches are picking up daily. Caddis have been spotty in places and thick in others. No reports of Dk. hendricksons but have those patterns in your box. Looks like your good to go, weather wise, for a while. Updating…

Black caddis have finally poped on some of the rivers of Wisconsin. The hatch is not river-wide, but yesterday it was thick. If you can find the spots where it is occuring, remember the spots and use it for future reference. The hatch happened around 2PM and fished well until 6PM. The down stream skitter [...]

The waters of Western Wisconsin are in great shape. Soon we will need rain because the water levels are appearing low. The last two outtings have found the mid-afternoon fishing to be the best. A #8 stonefly immitation followed by a #18 P.tail or soft hackle have been good producers. BWO’s have been on the [...]

The Rush river fished slow this morning. Around 12:30 the fish came alive. BWO’S and midges were abundant in the air. The fish were not active on the surface but a #18 P. tail was all you needed. I think the afternoon shift will continue to be the most active for a while.
