The water clarity in the upper end of the Rush and the Kinni was better than in the lower reaches of either river on my drive this morning. On the Rush, the water at 570th was clear only on the edges and considered marginally fishable. At Martell, good clarity existed although the water was quite stained. The upper Kinni Was fine but also stained at the “swinging gate” The lower, at “F bridge” was quite stained. All the waters will get better in the next few days. The first barges made it to Redwing on the Mississippi today. This is 12 days behind the first arrivals from 2002. The water is taking longer to warm up this year and some great fishing lies just around the corner.
