The streams looked good yesterday. The vast amount of lumber I saw piled up on the Rush river was incredible. The river has changed again and many of my “go to” holes are gone or have moved. Fish were caught but seemed to be somewhat inactive since many of their homes had been washed away. […]

Quick update! A few reports through the store today where folks were fishing on the Rush river at Martell with black buggers an having success. The upper Kinni also was receding. The water in general is looking better by the hour. I will look tomorrow, early AM. If I don’t get it on the web […]

Yuked up! Almost 4 inches of rain fell in Ellsworth on Tuesday night. Most water went into the river because of the rock hard dry earth that surrounded the area, consequently the rivers jumped their banks. Wisconsin streams have been running low and clear. Fish are spooky and see you coming so be stealthy. Blue wings and midges have been in action but the sunny days have not been the best for these hatches. Find areas not in full sun for the best production. Waters are still cold and fish are […]

The fishing in the last two days has been picky. The warmest part of the day has been the most productive. Water temps are still quite chilly so the fish are slow to become active. Stocking trucks have been around so numerous fish caught in the 4 to 6 inch range have been reported. Soft […]
