Yesterday was the last full day of fishing to be had in Pierce county for a few days. Nice trout were caught on the surface on midge patterns like griffiths gnats in #18 and stillborn midges in the same size. Soft Hackle pheasant tails on the greased line technique also worked well for midging fish. Large stonefly nymphs caught the largest trout. Black stones over 1″ long were in the air and on the snow banks.
The water was flowing heavy into the rivers late yesterday. After last nights rain the flows have gone off the chart. Have a great Easter and April Fools day. I will keep you updated.
