The conditions in the Southeast are similar to Wisconsins. No rain to speak of in May and only a little in April. The bigger waters like the Root have a little more depth and may be a little easier to nymph. Trout Run has had sporatic Caddis and Midge fishing but long casts are the key to not spooking the trout. Soon our old friend the Pale Afternoon Dun will hatch and all will be well. We are coining this phrase for this mayfly because over the last 10 years no one can agree on the name of this beast. Be stealthy and rise to the challenge the fish are still there.
