On Sunday night most of the rivers in the Southeast and western Wisconsin had spiked to record high water flows for this date in recorded history. I knew this was not a good sign for the opening of the winter catch and release season. I cancelled my trip with my friends and resigned to knowing that at least I could now legaly fish again. The day started sunny and warm, a fine change from the cold rainy weather we had experienced for the last two days. I went to the river later in the day to see the muddy water and get out in the woods. I had my rod and reel in the back of the truck but it never made an apperance. Mabey later in the week. Drop me a line if you found clear water on the opener.
