The front moved through mid-afternoon yesterday and turned cold. Fishing in the cool overcast morning was productive in the deeper holes. The water is clear and low enough to spook fish easily. The rivers have been in great shape for the last few days. The deeper holes and pockets are slightly stained and perfect for close approach. Long casts whether dry fly or nymphing give you a better advantage though because the surrounding water is clear and the finned boys and girls can see you comming. Prince […]

The mornings have been productive on top with a smattering of bwo’s and midges. Midge larva and small (18-20) soft hackles have worked well in the shallow riff’s or fished just below the surface. The rain pounded the Rochester area today and there are no current good reports on the condition of the water. Check rain amounts on the weather tonight. The streams were just comming back from the last runnoff episode so it does not look good for the weekend.

The streams in the Southeast are getting better by the hour. Their conditions are varriable, but the smaller creeks are becomming fishable. Nothing is totally clear but more rain could be on the way. Get out there and wet a line. Take a look at the DNR reports for the Whitewater area on the new […]

As of 6PM Monday evening the waters were down but darkly stained with almost no clearing on the edges. Some of the smaller Creeks may be fishable by late today.
