It was late afternoon on Sunday when the run off finally came and turned the waters to mud. The fishing had been fantastic with the fish tending twards the selective side. Meaning they selected anything you threw at them. Then it was over! Every dry run, tributary, and inlet raged with water from above. Monday we drove over 100 miles in search of reasonable looking water. It was not meant to be. The drastic drop in temperature has slowed the runoff and most of the rivers are receding as of late today. The continued below freezing temps should help to bring them back to normal flows. I’d give it a day or two for the fish to get back their appetite.
