The waters of Pierce and St. Croix counties are running clear and cool. Insect action continues to be good mid-day during the slightly cooler weather. Sunrise this morning on the Rush river was cool and beautiful, with little top water activity. The Royal Coachman was the best dry during this non hatch period. The fish are still looking up. Patterns during mid afternoon are Hendricksons in 14 and 16, PMD’s in 16-18, Sulfurs in 16, and a variety of soft hackles( p.tail, hares ear, and olives in 16-20), for the sub-surface feeders. On Thursday I buried my four legged friend of 14 years. I am Crushed. Do me a favor, hug your dog for me.
