img_1528The Rush was as clear as it is in August. Water levels are low and there is no place to hide from the fish. The guide ice was building up fast and it was windy. I found a few nice fish but is was not easy. the Kinni was a bit better but not much. The water seems to hold a tint for longer, enabling anglers to get a little closer to the fish without spooking them. There were some midging fish in both rivers but they wanted nothing to do with me, even on 6x. A #10 Bead head hares ear with white biot tails was my best fly. 1 fish fell to the vaunted pink squirrel #16.
