As many get ready for the Wisconsin trout opener it always helps to know what you might run into for water conditions. As a new feature this year, I thought I would give those who can’t get out, as well as those who are heading over to fish, a better feeling for what conditions are going to be like. Look for this to be a semi regular feature of my reports this year. Here it is, the wonders of modern technology…moving pictures. Let me know what you think.

I can’t imagine how stressful it is for you guys back in Wisconsin. If I couldn’t get out and fish at least once a week, I’d be pulling my hair out. Wait, I can’t do that, I don’t have any. Ok, I guess I’d have to take drugs. Like the video. Nice the see the old home state.

I like the moving pictures addition. Of course you may want to cut down on the coffee to avoid shaky camera syndrom. 😉
Andy,
I think it’s a great idea…maybe get some shots of the Kinni or the Rush where a lot of folks go from the Cities to trout fish….good stuff, though. There really is a lot of snow. I was fishing the Waterloo creek area last weekend in Dorchester, IA and same scenario, but maybe even more snow still!
Here’s an idea, can folks send in their personal shots of their local creeks from around the Driftless, like have a “reports” page on your website or something?…that maybe more than you can handle, but may bring a lot of folks to GrayGoat. It’s sort-of an audience participation sort-of thing…have folks keep their times under a minute, so they make the best shots in the quickest time available.
Cheers!
Andy -Thanks – for those of us that haven’t been over that way in a while it gets the old juices flowing again.
Hey – who do you use for catering and craft service?

Oscar buzz!
what are your thought on all the melting snow entering the river? Will this cool the rivers down enough to make the fish sluggish, or should it be ok?
Freezing at night is good. The water will actually warm up a bit. The fishing should be good until the snow starts melting and running into the river again. This cool down of the water MAY make the fish a bit more sluggish. There are no rules, only rules of thumb.
